Banjo ukulele

The banjo ukulele has many names: the Banjolele, Banjo uke, Banjoukulele or Banjelele and Banjulele. Everybody calls it by a different name, but everybody knows what it is.

To tell the truth, I haven’t had the chance to touch this instrument yet and I’m not too keen on it, but it’s clear to me that the bajo ukulele has already managed to win its fans all over the world.

It’s a cross between a banjo and a ukulele. The instrument is tuned like a ukulele but sounds louder, like a banjo. Due to its rarity and not being widely used by musicians, its price is slightly higher than the classic uke. The banjolele is normally tuned to GCEA. Its body is made, as with the banjo, of synthetic material however more skilled players still prefer natural leather. They are said to give the instrument a better sound.
